Itty Bitty Sports

Itty Bitty Dance and Cheer (x-x years)
Pee wee participants receive training in ballet, hip hop and cheer dance.
When: Saturdays, 2-3 p.m. (monthly sessions)
Cost: $50

Itty Bitty Tennis (4-6 years)
Little players learn game basics from Jerry Johnson, head of the YMCA tennis program.
When: Saturdays, 8-9 a.m. (monthly sessions)
Cost: $52

Youth & Adult Sports

Rock Wall Climb Time (8 years+)
Soar to new personal heights on the YMCA rock wall! Learn techniques for selecting your route to the top. Instructors teach proper rock wall usage, belaying and tying knots. This program includes a variety of exciting games not offered during normal climbing hours.
When: Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m.
Cost: $32 members

Shotokan Karate (6 years+, adults and families welcome)
Students gain insight and learn techniques of this traditional Japanese martial art, including discipline, self-confidence, memory, strength and more. Your instructor is Sensei Catalin Neagu, a 5th degree black belt who has trained nationally and internationally for the past 30 years. Assistant instructor Sempai Christopher Park has trained for the past 14 years. Both instructors have won the U.S.A. National Karate Federation National Karate Championship, among other awards.
When: monthly sessions
Mondays: 5-5:45 p.m. (15 years+); 6-6:45 p.m. (5-14 years)
Wednesdays: 5-5:45 p.m. (15 years+); 6-6:45 p.m. (5-14 years)
Cost: $48 members; $67 non-members

Tae Kwon Do (6 years+, adults and families welcome)
Learn from Master Gary A. Bosse, USTF state director for Nevada and 7th degree black belt. Participants develop the spirit, mind and body through Tae Kwon Do techniques.
When: monthly sessions
Cost: $48 members; $67 non-members

Tennis Time

The YMCA tennis program is led by Jerry Johnson, who personally coaches participants in all of the classes and drills. Coach Johnson has been with the Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA for 15 years. Tennis Junior Class (7-14 years)
Are you an aspiring tennis pro? Learn tennis fundamentals including grips, ground strokes, footwork, volleys, serving, scoring and basic rules. Play games too! This class includes singles and doubles experience, and an introduction to playing local tournaments. Intermediate and advanced classes include live ball drills designed for playing matches.
Beginner: Wednesdays, 5-6:30 p.m.
Intermediate: Thursdays, 5-6:30 p.m.
Advanced: Saturdays, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Cost: $59 members; $72 non-members

Tennis Adult Beginner Class (15 years+)
Tennis is a lifetime sport, and it’s never too late to pick up a racquet. Jerry Johnson teaches fundamentals such as grips, ground strokes, footwork, volleys, serving, scoring and basic rules.
When: Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m.; Saturdays, 10-11 a.m.
Cost: $48 members; $62 non-members

Tennis Beginner Adult Drills (15 years+)
If you already play and want an invigorating workout, this is the program for you. Drills are for singles and doubles, plus match play.
When: Mondays, 6:30-8 p.m.
Cost: $48 members; $62 non-members

Tennis Advanced Adult Drills (15 years+)
If you’re an advanced player looking to increase your stamina, this is the ideal drill session. Drills are for singles and doubles, plus match play.
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-8 p.m.
Cost: $48 members; $62 non-members

Adult Drop-Ins Adults are welcome to drop in on any adult session for just $10.
